February:
Owen has been getting bigger and busier every day. He has a new love for playing dress up. He can't get enough of his orange stocking hat or Mama's shoes!
Owen has a new found love of his belly. I wonder where he gets that from? Oh yeah, from us! We can't get enough of that adorable belly and Owen loves showing it off. He even knows where his belly button is!
Check out my belly!
We also celebrated Shane's 31st birthday in February. Happy birthday Shane!!
Owen was eager to jump in and help his papa open his gifts.
At the end of February, Owen turned 18 months old...
Hey! I'm 18 months old today!
So we decided to get his photos taken. Oh boy! What a challenge that was! He definitely has a mind of his own these days and did not want to cooperate. But somehow we managed to get some good shots...although we ended having to break out some props - Owen's favorite froggy and some golf balls. We were on high alert for flying golf balls! Owen has a wicked arm!

Our other exciting February news...Owen is going to be a big brother! We found out that we are expecting in October! We even had an ultrasound and could see the baby's heart beating away.
March:
In March we celebrated Eli's 6th birthday!
Owen had fun helping Eli open his gifts and everyone had fun playing with Eli's new toys.

Soon the birthday boy was ready for another nap!
Owen also surprised us with his first word..."bye-bye"! He of course has eluded the video camera! Maybe one of these days I'll finally get it on video!! Owen's first word was quickly followed by his second..."Mama"! Yeah!! Just hearing him say Mama melts my heart!! A third word of "hi" soon followed, but he's decided to keep us waiting on his 4th word. I know what word Papa is hoping for!!
The rest of our March was pretty low key due to the morning sickness that plagued me all day every day! Yuck!!
April:
Luckily, the morning sickness passed by early April, just in time to celebrate Easter! This year we tried a new Easter egg dyeing method - tie-dye! The new method made it easier for Owen to participate. He wasn't quite sure what to think about dyeing the Easter eggs...

Even Uncle James jumped in to give it a try...
After dyeing eggs, we headed over to Grandma Slominsk's for a Pre-Easter egg hunt and dinner. Owen had a blast finding the Easter eggs and then running over to Papa with the egg so that Papa could open it for him...

The Easter Bunny was sure good to him this year! He got three Easter Baskets packed full of fun new toys! He even got a set of golf clubs and a talking Elmo!!

After church, it was time for another Easter Egg hunt! Yippee!!

What a wonderful Easter we had with so very much to be thankful for!
The day after Easter Owen and I packed up the car and took off on a road trip to North Dakota for 1 1/2 weeks. We made the usual stops on our way. The first stretch is always the hardest. Having to stop 5 times on the way, after 7 long hours we finally pulled up to Owen's Great-Grandma Schatz's in the tiny town of Zeeland.
Owen had a great time playing in the windy North Dakota plains. He sure loves that wind blowing through his hair!

The next stop on our trip was Bismarck. When we got to town, we headed to the State Capitol to see where Owen's Grandpa Klein works. Grandpa showed us around and introduced us to many, many people. He sure loved showing his Grandson off!
After our tour we were on our way to our next stop, Great-Grandma and Grandpa Klein's. We had a great time visiting and running all around their apartment building. Owen thought Grandma and Grandpa's "toys" were super fun to play with!

Then we were off to Fessenden to see Owen's Grandma Klein (and Grandpa Klein once he was done with his Senate work in Bismarck for the week.) Owen sure gave Grandma a run for the money. He loved all the time they spent playing outside, going for long walks, and goofing around. Grandma broke out all her kids old toys and Owen was in Heaven!

Well, that wraps up our last few months. Until next time...

Hmmm...I'm not quite sure what I'm doing...
Is that an egg? Why isn't it white??
Jess tie-dyeing an egg...

But the rest of us had a good time!
Nice egg Shane!

Hey Grandpa, you've sure got a weird looking toy car!
Then we were off to Fessenden to see Owen's Grandma Klein (and Grandpa Klein once he was done with his Senate work in Bismarck for the week.) Owen sure gave Grandma a run for the money. Hmmm... Mr. Potato Head's glasses don't quite fit.
Look at me in Grandpa's boots!!
I love playing in the kitchen!
Well, that wraps up our last few months. Until next time...
