Play hockey, Pa?

Owen has become quite the little hockey fan! For Christmas, Grandma and Grandpa Slominski got him his very own set of hockey sticks and a net. So nearly every night when Pa gets home from work, Owen will meet him at the door and shout out with enthusiasm, "Play hockey, Pa?!?" Shane of course is quite delighted with Owen's love of the sport and happily obliges.

Any object nearby is a puck to our 2 year old! He especially loves to shoot into the net the plastic toy rocks that came with his set of dinosaurs. But what is hockey without skates! Our boy has quite the imagination - his "in the house skates" are pieces of his wooden train track which he of course needs to be on the wood floor so he can "skate" around on them. Unfortunately, his "train track skates" weren't quite fast enough for him and he quickly figured out that his matchbox cars make much better skates!

Throughout the winter, anytime Owen would see a piece of ice in the driveway or parking lot, he'd shout out "Hockey!" This winter Owen and his Pa spent quite a few weekend afternoons on the ice perfecting his form.
Oh boy! I think I may have a hockey player on my hands!!
