Up Goes the Tree

With no snow on the ground, it seemed rather odd to be pulling out the Christmas tree.  But Christmas, along with all the craziness of the season, was around the corner.  To put us in the Christmas spirit, we turned up the Christmas carols and got to work decorating the house.

Owen was Mom's little helper, sorting out branches and putting them on the tree.

 And all three kitties were very interested in the festivities.

Soon all the lower branches were on, so Shane had to help Owen out with the taller ones.  It was quite the process!

Once the tree was up, Owen had to crawl underneath to test out his new hiding spot.

And Zoe had to climb up the tree to make sure it was good and stable.

Then came the fun part...decorating the tree!  Both Cole and Owen were eager to help.

Owen decided to climb up Mom's step ladder to hang an ornament.  You can tell from the expression on his face that he was trying to be sneaky...

"Oh no! You caught me!"

The boys did a wonderful job decorating the tree.  It looked beautiful.

Unfortunately, it didn't take long before William realized how very fun it was to climb up the tree and knock off the ornaments.  Soon ornaments were laying all over the floor, the lights weren't working, and the branches were bent.  Nothing destroys a Christmas Tree quite like a kitten!
