Our Fun FANA Filled Weekend

The end of July is always a fun (and busy!) time for us filled with lots of FANA activities.  This year the festivities began on Saturday with a picnic in the park.  It was a beautiful day for a picnic, and we of course had to dress up to show our Colombian pride!

The boys had a wonderful time playing at the playground and petting the animals at the petting zoo.  And Owen even got to on ride a pony.

The FANA picnic every year is always a very special time for us.  It was 4 years ago at the picnic that we became parents as we gazed down for the very first time at a photo of our son!!  I remember it like it was yesterday, and yet it's hard to imagine life before Owen.
Our photo first photo of Owen
It was a hot day for our boys (neither of them do well in the heat), but Owen figured out a way to cool down by playing in the water fountain.  By the time we left, he had created a small pond around the fountain and was soaked from head to toe!

We all had a wonderful time at the picnic.  It was so great to see all our FANA friends and it was adorable to see Owen running around with all his crib-mates.

The following Monday was the big FANA gala.   Between the gala, the 5K and the garage sale fundraisers, we raised over $115,000 for FANA!  A big thank you to all the people who worked so hard to make it such a huge success!  But the best part of the night came at the very end, when our friends Sarah and Seth became parents to an adorable little girl!!

We are so very happy for them and hope that they can travel to Colombia soon to be united with their beautiful daughter!
