Just before the start of another busy school year, we decided to try something new, so we drove down to Minnehaha Falls in South Minneapolis. We've lived in Minnesota for quite a long time and had never ventured out to see the falls. Well, the falls were a pretty sad sight to see. It's been so dry that the Minnehaha Falls were more of a trickle, but that didn't stop us from having fun. We decided to rent a bike built for four and take in the beautiful scenery. It was much more work pedaling the large contraption than we had anticipated, but well worth it!
The kids (and us parents!) had a great time. Cole especially liked turning around to spin my steering wheel. Of course mine was just the fake wheel, Shane had the one that actually steered the bike.
We eventually made our way down the steep stairs to the bottom of the falls to get a closer look. The boys both thought it was great fun to pick up pebbles on the ground and toss them into the creek.
We really enjoyed our exciting adventure to Minnehaha Falls. Maybe next time, we'll actually get to see a waterfall!
