This past month, the house has been taking shape. The windows are in. The roof is on. The fascia and soffit installation has begun. It's easy to see all the changes happening on the exterior.

As for the inside, while it doesn't look much different from when the framing was completed, a lot has happened. The most noticeable change is that the fireplace has been installed. During the installation, we ran into a small issue with the venting since the fireplace isn't located on an exterior wall. Luckily we were able to run the venting out through the garage rather than have a weird bump out in the house.

The electrician, plumbers, low voltage guy and HVAC guys have been working for several weeks cutting holes, and running pipes, wires and vents. By far the most challenging part so far has been the electrical. Trying to figure out how many lights we need and where, not to mention all the outlets and switches... I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we didn't miss anything major.

The building inspector came out this week and gave us the go ahead to start covering up the walls. Meaning insulation and sheet rocking will begin shortly and the inside will definitely take on a different look.

While all the work has been going on, I've been busy with my to-do list. The appliances and plumbing fixtures have been finalized. The interior doors and baseboard have been picked out. The garage doors, front door, stone and exterior paint colors have been selected.

My next tasks at hand include picking out the interior window and door trim, the stair railing, the tile and the light fixtures and designing the cabinetry. I will definitely be busy for a while!

Looks like things are coming along nicely! I particularly love the light in the living room. Exterior materials look great, too. Can wait to see it all come together! Have fun with your never ending list of decisions to make :)
