Easter 2016

Happy Easter!  We celebrated the joyous occasion with two big festivities.  The day before Easter was spent at Nana Judy and Popi Dave's. The kids had a blast hunting for Easter eggs, searching for their baskets full of goodies and eating lots of yummy treats!

On Easter morning, Cole woke up bright and early as usual.  Luckily he forgot that it was Easter so he didn't mind waiting for his big brother to wake up.  As soon as Owen opened his eyes, he ran downstairs and was ready to see what the Easter Bunny had left behind.  The boys looked high and low for Easter eggs hidden throughout the house, nibbling on the yummy chocolates inside as they searched.

During their search, they discovered a note left behind by the Easter Bunny.  The Bunny had left them a surprise on their Xbox - he had downloaded 2 new games just for the boys!

After checking out their new games, the boys realized that they still had to find their Easter baskets.  Off they went in search of the treasures that the Bunny had left behind.

All these festivities occurred while little Miss Rose was fast asleep in her bed.  She sure loves to sleep in (just like her mom!)  Rose got up just in time to be fed and dressed, and off to church we went.  Our normal 11:00 am mass had two services due to the large number of attendees.  We opted for the service in the gym.  It was packed and hot!  But we survived another long Easter Sunday mass with 3 little busy bodies.  The kids even wore their Sunday best without complaining too much.  The boys looked dashing and Rose looked like a princess (even though she was a bit under the weather).

With Easter mass over, we headed home for Rose to finally discover what the Easter Bunny had left for her.  She loved her basket full of goodies, although she was most interested in the fruit snacks - the girl's got a sweet tooth!

After looking through her basket, she noticed an Easter egg.  Once she got it open, there was no stopping her from eating her yummy treat.  She was soon covered in chocolate!

After lunch it was off to nap time for Rose while the boys played outside with their new toys.

Rose woke up from her nap and went to work collecting the rest of her remaining Easter eggs.  She gathered them all up and then came the fun part, eating the yummy treats inside!  But she wanted nothing to do with the chocolate chips and only wanted the peanut butter cups!

Happy Easter from the Slominski Five!

He has risen!
"I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die."
John 11:25-26
