Happy New Year!

We bid 2016 a fond farewell by hitting the lanes at Brunswick Zone.  I had some doubts on whether we'd be able to make it through an entire game with our party of 5, but the kids sure surprised me.  They did great and we all had so much fun.  Although next time I just may partake in the use of the bumpers.  I am a horrible bowler!  But at least the kids were excited that they could beat their mom!

After we finished our game, Cole was eager to hit the arcade - he is a huge fan and there was no way we were getting out of there without him playing a couple games.

That night we partied like rock stars with chocolates and a bit of bubbly - bubbly juice that is (at least for the kiddos - the grownups celebrated with champagne!)

Cole and Rose loved the carbonated grape juice, but as for Owen, he just couldn't take the bubbles!

Cole and Rose hit the hay early.  While the rest of us didn't quite make it up to midnight, we were at least able to celebrate with the ball drop in New York.  Happy new year!

The first day of our new year was low key with a late morning mass, lunch out at a local restaurant and the rest of the day spent at home playing with the kids and whipping up my favorite Colombian dish - ajiaco (a chicken and potato soup popular in Bogota).  It's become our traditional New Years meal.  It's lots of peeling and dicing, but so worth it!  YUM!

Owen was ready for seconds before I even sat down at the table!

Adios 2016...hello 2017!  We can't wait to see what exciting adventures lie ahead.
