Rose's 4th Family Day

March 20th marked 4 years since Rose was placed in our arms. She was such a little peanut dressed head to toe in pink. Our first little girl. We waited 4 years to see her face through many ups and downs throughout our adoption process. And now we are celebrating 4 years together! She sure has grown since that day in the Green Room at FANA when we first laid our eyes on our precious little princess. But one thing remains - she STILL loves sucking on those two little fingers of hers.

Time would quickly tell us just how much of a girly girl she was. Full of a love for everything that sparkles and shines with a whopping dose of sass. Our Rose is all girl. She loves playing dress-up, twirling in her skirts, and the color pink. Although when asked her favorite color, she will enthusiastically reply, "RAINBOW!"

On her 4th Family Day, we were on Spring Break in Mexico. She spent the day adventuring around the Tulum ruins with Shane and Owen while her sick Mama stayed back at the resort with the other kids. After walking in the hot sun all day, it was no surprise to see Rose with a cup of chocolate ice cream - my girl sure has a sweet tooth!

We celebrated again when we returned home. Rose got to choose whatever she wanted to do on her special day. Her request for the day - to play outside! Spring had finally sprung (at least for a short while), and she was excited to take her wheels for a spin. Rose loves being outside - rain, snow or shine!

After a fun afternoon outside, we were off to Colombian dance class, but FIRST, a stop at Dairy Queen was in order.

Rose started taking Colombian dance class in February. She's starting to learn the moves and of course, looks adorable twirling in her new skirt.

On the way home, she was so tuckered out that she fell fast asleep.

That evening, it was Rose's choice for dinner. She choose one of her favorites - Shore96. Unfortunately we arrived to a sign on the door stating that the kitchen was closed due to an unforseen issue. So we loaded back into the car, trying to figure out our next destination. After much discussion, she decided to try a place new to her - Chianti Grill. It's a bit on the fancy side for our crew, but it was a special occasion after all! Rose gobbled up Shane's salad and her plate of noodles, but of course still had room for ice cream!

Miss Rose - You are our feisty diva. You know exactly what you want and are not afraid to fight for it - even if it means taking on your 100+ pound 11 year old brother! You love play dough (you usually take over the entire table with your play dough projects), painting (I've even caught you painting your toys with your glitter paint to make them more beautiful), and watching your favorite girly flicks on Netflix (like "Miraculous" and "Spirit"). You love being outside, scooting around on your scooter, riding your bike, collecting rocks and playing on the swing set. You have the biggest imagination and are always sharing stories about the adventures you and your imaginary "girls" go on (they are sure some doozies!) You love music and can't help but dance to the beat, no matter where we are - even in church!

You are a social butterfly - making new friends where ever you go. You have no fear walking up to a new kid (or even adult) and introducing yourself. And if they say "hi" back to you, they are automatically your friend. You have such a kind heart, always eager to give hugs and cuddles. We are blessed to call you our daughter! The last 4 years have been amazing to watch you grow and blossom! We love you, Rose! Happy 4th Family Day!
