The Picture Frame

Shortly after Owen came home from Colombia in 2008, I found the perfect picture frame to display his little hand and foot prints. The project turned out so cute, that I went back and bought 3 more knowing that someday, three more kids would come along to fill those frames.

Cole surprised us with his presence soon after and exactly 13 months after bringing Owen home, our second frame was filled with his tiny newborn prints.

The remaining two frames were stored for over 5 more years. They traveled with us on moves to two different houses (one rental home and finally our forever home). There were days when we wondered if our 3rd frame would ever be filled. Finally, in 2015 Rose joined our family from Colombia and her frame went up on the shelf along with her brothers.

Three years later in 2018, little Miss Kate joined our family and filled our final frame. We thought for a brief moment that our family was finally complete. We had the 4 children that we had always planned on. But God had other plans in store.

The next year, Aria would join our family, yet the frames I had purchased over 10 years prior were filled. The chances of finding a matching frame were slim to nil. Yet find one we did! Miraculously, my brother's family had a nearly exact frame that they gifted to us and now, frame number 5 is filled with our sweet Aria's prints and after over 10 years, our collection is now complete.
