Our Easter celebrations looked a bit different this year thanks to COVID. Instead of having a gathering at Nana Judy and Popi Dave's house, they brought the party to us. The kids all congregated in the back yard to open their very generous gifts from Nana and Popi.
Then they excitedly got to work searching high and low for the Easter eggs with their names on.
After locating the eggs, it was time to find the baskets - at least for the younger four. Owen remained upstairs snoozing away. Oh, the life of a teenager!
Kate was the first to locate her basket full of candies, juices, a new dress (this girl LOVES her dresses) and a bubble maker.
Cole and Rose both stumbled upon theirs at the same time. Rose was shocked that the Easter Bunny knew she wanted a pink wobble cushion and that she needed knee and elbow pads for her newfound love of roller blading. She wasted no time trying out her new pads.
Along with all sorts of yummy candy and his favorite juices, Cole got a new lunch bag for school and his very own wrestling dummy!
The Easter Bunny wasn't sure if the wrestling dummy would be a bit too creepy for the little ones, but in fact, it was a huge hit for all - even Kate!
Little Miss Aria was excited to stumble upon her basket full of goodies. She also received a little table to use while working on her new skill - SITTING!!
Almost 3 hours later, Owen finally joined in the fun. He searched and eventually located all his Easter goodies. His favorites included a wireless mouse for his computer and a Roblox gift card.
That afternoon, we decorated the Easter eggs (better late than never!) Everyone took a turn using the egg spinning machine to color beautiful works of art.
Afterwards, we tried dyeing eggs with whipped cream and food coloring. It was quite messy using the suggested method of cupcake tins so we quickly moved the project outside to the deck, set the tins aside and whipped out plastic ziplock bags to contain the sticky colored goo.
The eggs turned out beautiful.
We weren't even done with the decorating before our egg loving girls begged to crack open a couple to gobble up.
For Easter dinner, Colombian Chicken Stew had been requested. It was delicious as always and super easy to make.
The weather could not have been more perfect. Between all the Easter festivities, we found plenty of time to play outside - hitting the ball, splashing in the pool and blowing bubbles.
What a wonderful Easter day! He is Risen!
