The First Day of School

Summer flew by and before we knew it, it was time to get the long list of school supplies purchased and backpacks loaded up with all the essentials. This year we would have 4 kids heading off to school IN-PERSON!!

Owen is now an 8th grader at Chippewa Middle School. This will be his last year there (high school next year - YIKES!) He's the first one on the bus every morning with a 7:15 am pickup time and the first one home at 2:35 each afternoon.

Cole is a 5th grader at Turtle Lake Elementary. It's his last year in elementary school. Next year will be a big change as he heads off to middle school.

Rose is a 1st grader. This is her first year at Turtle Lake Elementary. She is loving school (fingers crossed that it continues!) and happy to ride the bus with her big brother every day.

Kate started her first year of preschool at our local community center. She was supposed to attend last year, but thanks to COVID, I kept her home. She absolutely loves being a big school girl. She attends preschool in the mornings Tuesday through Friday.

We've been very blessed to have our summer help, Mrs. Nelson, stay on for the school year. She comes every morning to help get the kids ready for the day, pack snacks and lunches, and get Cole and Rose loaded onto the bus. With Aria's jam packed therapy sessions most mornings and afternoons, Mrs. Nelson takes care of getting Kate to and from school and keeping her entertained in the afternoons until we return home. She even does the dishes and laundry, vacuums, picks up toys, and organizes the kids drawers and closets!! I am being extremely spoiled with such wonderful help. It's been a great start to a much dreaded school year.
