Owen's new pal

With the bitter winter cold outside, it's nice to stay warm and cozy inside and be treated with a visit from some very special guests - my high school/college friend Trisha, and her adorable son Dominic. It had been about a year since I had last seen Dominic and the first time Trish and Dominic met Owen, so we had a LOT of catching up to do!

Owen had been a bit sleepy before our guests arrived - I wasn't sure if he was going to need a quick cat nap. But as soon as our visitors walked in the door, he was rearing to go! Owen was very interested in showing his guests all his fun toys. But whenever Mama would walk away (even just to grab the camera!), the tears would come running! Owen must have thought Trish and Dominic were over to babysit instead of for a playdate.

Eventually it sunk in that Mama was not going anywhere and the boys got down to work, playing and investigating everything around them. Owen is only a couple months older than Dominic, so they had a great time together - that is when they didn't want the same toy!

Dominic took one look at Owen's new trike and claimed his stake. There was no getting him off that trike! That is until Owen hopped aboard his train.
Then Dominic thought the train looked fun too! Soon Dominic was riding the train around the house. Owen thought he'd pitch in and give him a hand...

The boys were having a blast playing, until the kitties appeared! One look at them and Dominic got quite a terrified look on his face followed by some intense screaming. Poor Dominic!! But by the end of our visit, both boys wanted to get a closer look at those fuzzy four legged friends.

What a wonderful visit we had! But after missing his morning nap, Owen was ready for some much needed rest. So we bid our friends a fond farewell and safe travels and promised to get together again sometime soon.
