Cole's 6 months old!

I can't believe just how fast 6 months can go by! Our boys are growing up before our very eyes!
Cole now weighs a whooping 14 pounds 2 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long. It seems as though he is growing bigger and learning new things every day! He is a very observant little boy and loves watching everything going on around him, especially his brother and kitties. He likes to play with toys - his bug and butterfly are his favorites. Although nothing can beat those little hands of his! He loves his hands. He'll give them a good look over every once in a while in awe of these two objects that he can easily control. And he is officially a thumb sucker.  No pacifier for my boy!  Nothing can beat those fingers!  Sometimes he even chooses his fingers over a bottle!  They sure must taste good! They are almost always in his mouth. Although he does sometimes give his hands a break and goes to chop on Mom's! He's been biting away on his fingers for months. One of these days there will finally be a tooth popping through.Cole has become a bit of a Mama's boy. Whenever someone else holds him, he will look around to make sure he can still see Mama. I seem to also be the only one that can get him to laugh. Sometimes I'm not even trying and he will get into giggle fits just looking at me! Of course that usually happens in church or at nap time! I have to try my hardest to get his sweet giggles and smiles on camera.

It is easy to tell when Cole's having a good time...his tongue automatically sticks out! When he's smiling or laughing, out it comes!Cole has become quite the eater. He started solids a couple weeks before he turned 6 months. So far he's only had rice cereal. He sure did not like it at first! What went in, pretty much came right back out. But he is now eating like a big boy, opening up his mouth for the spoon and chomping away on the cereal. He even keeps most of it in his mouth! We'll see what he thinks of the green beans! At 6 months, he even tried drinking out of a cup. He wasn't quite sure what to think about this new beverage called water. He'd much rather drink milk!Cole is quite the mover and shaker. He LOVES jumping in his exersaucer! The first time he started jumping, Owen walked over to him, put his hand on Cole's head and said "Owen so proud of you, Cole." Standing is also a favorite, although he's not that fond of sitting. Standing is just so much more fun! He can see so much more and bounce up and down. He just can't get enough of it!

Tummy time is slowly coming along. He still doesn't care to be on his stomach, but now he can usually roll himself back over onto his back (although sometimes that pesky arm gets in the way!)  Every time he rolls onto his back, a proud look comes over his face as if to say, "See what I did, Mama!" Cole is starting to like spending time in his crib. He loves gazing at his rainforest crib toy watching the monkey and frog play peek-a-boo with him. He's still captivated by his mobile and loves looking in his crib mirror. Often when he is laying awake in his crib before or after napping, we'll hear a bang, bang, bang coming from his room. He loves picking up both legs as far as they will go and slamming them down onto his mattress over and over again! He's also figured out that he can make some very interesting noising running his finger nails back and forth over his sheets. He'll watch ever so closely as he moves his hand back and forth intently listening to the sound.

Cole was quite the champ at his 6 month photo shoot. Although he refused to smile at the photographer, she captured some great shots of him laying in a pile of feathers! I thought it sounded like a great idea to use feathers, although I'm sure Cole would not have agreed if he had had the option! After Cole had had enough of the feathers Owen got to play in them and make even more of a mess!Thank goodness I didn't have to clean up all those feathers!
