Will at the pet store
We have a new member of our family! William, a little orange and white tabby, came home with us on August 30th. He was about 3 months old and cute as a button! He was all of 2 1/2 pounds when I brought him home. It wasn't my intention to add another cat to our already crazy household, but I took one look at him in the little cage at Petco and was hooked.

Will's first day at home
He was so little and skinny and lonely all by himself. I couldn't get his sad little eyes out of my head. And it didn't help that Owen kept asking if we could bring a kitty home. So we sent a photo of Will to Shane and that night Owen did his magic showing Pa how he was going to take care of his new kitten by taking care of our other kitties. He would brush Eli's hair and was being extra gentle giving lots of soft pets to both Eli and Zoe. He kept asking Shane, "When can we go get my kitty?" It was just too adorable and wasn't long before Shane gave in and told Owen we could bring Will home.

Owen proud of his new kitty
Will was a rescue kitty and had been in foster care prior to being brought to the pet store in the hopes of finding a family. He had been doing great prior to coming to the pet store, but our social little guy didn't do well being caged up all by himself. Luckily he had only been there for a few days. When I brought him home, he wouldn't eat or play. He didn't move much other than to drink water and use the potty. He was not acting like a typical kitten, so I called the animal rescue organization. Missy at Whisker Rescue said to bring him over the next day. Poor Will was very dehydrated. It took three rounds of subcutaneous fluid injections and he was finally feeling much better.

Will, Zoe and Cole
Will is a very happy, playful kitty and loves to run around the house, jumping on the couches and chasing toys around the floor. Watch out walking down the stairs because before you can blink, he will come flying down them past you. He loves being held and played with. He's such a fun little guy.

Will and Owen taking an afternoon nap
Owen and Will are the best of friends. Our other kitties don't have much interest in playing with a kitten (they are 8+ years old and happy to lounge around most of the day!) So Will is lucky to have Owen to run around and play with. They are quite the pair. Although I often need to remind Owen that Will is just little and Owen needs to be a bit more gentle with him.

Will snuggled up with the T-Rex costume
Whenever Owen is sleeping, I know just where to find Will. He is always curled up next to Owen catching a cat nap. Will's other favorite place to nap throughout the day is on Owen's T-Rex costume. Owen had taken it off one day and thrown it on the floor (as he usually does) and Will quickly found his new favorite napping place.

"Why is Eli eating my food??
Our house has pretty much adjusted to the new kitten. Zoe and Eli are no longer hiding under the bed in fear of the tiny little guy. All three of them can be in the same room now and even eat next to each other, although they still refuse to play with him. Will has figured out the layout of our house and the very important location of the litter box. He now has a big appetite and has grown a ton since coming home.

Thank you Whisker Rescue!
We are very lucky to have the little guy. He has brought many smiles to our household. A big thank you to Whisker Rescue for saving him and finding him a home!!
