Road Trip!

In early May, we loaded up the car for Rose's very first road trip!  We set off to North Dakota for her cousin Kieran's baptism.  Luckily our destination wasn't too far.  Just a short 3 1/2 hour drive to Fargo.  We timed our departure just in time for Miss Rose to take her nap.  We hadn't even gotten out of the cities yet and she was already snoozing away.

The first 2 1/2 hours were smooth sailing while Rose caught up on her beauty sleep.  But just past Fergus Falls, Sleeping Beauty woke up and was not a happy camper!  We made an emergency pit stop in Barnesville to feed our very hungry little girl.

Eventually we arrived at our destination.  The boys wasted no time getting in their swimsuits and heading off to the pool while Mom and Rose decided to stay warm and dry on land.  The pool was freezing!  But the boys still had fun.

We had a guest drop by the hotel - Aunt Donna.  Everyone was excited to see her!

Bedtime in a hotel can be a bit of a challenge with 3 little ones.  Rose wanted nothing to do with sleep!  It ended up being quite a late evening before she finally conked out.

What?!?  I have to go to sleep!

But I'm wide awake, Mom!

At least Cole was tuckered out from all the swimming and quickly fell asleep.

I'm going to bed!

The next morning we scrambled to get everyone fed, dressed and ready for church.  Rose looked adorable in her new dress.

We were running late as usual.  It started to downpour just as we arrived to the church.  I guess that's what we get for showing up late to church!

After church we headed over to cousin Kieran's house.  Owen loved playing with Uncle James' dogs that made the trip from the Twin Cities for the special occasion.  Owen's been asking for a dog for some time, so he was eager to get his puppy fix.

Rose enjoyed meeting her Popi Jerry and all her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cousin Emma was very excited to finally have a girl cousin and asked to hold Rose over and over again.  But Owen wasn't too thrilled to have to share his baby sister!
