North Dakota Bound

Shortly after school ended for the year, we loaded the car and set off for sunny North Dakota!!  We try to get back to see my parents every summer, and as fate would have it, the timing worked out perfect for Shane's work schedule.  He was the luckily one who had the privilege of transporting our brood in a 7 hour road trip to Nana Bev and Popi Jerry's house.  Everyone was thrilled when we rounded the corner and could FINALLY see a glimpse of the water tower - we had arrived!!

We spent the next week enjoying small town life.  Our days were filled with long leisurely walks, driving the John Deere, playing at the school playground, having fun with cousins and jamming on the piano.

While the rest of us were taking a break from work, Owen decided to re-energize his grocery store career and went to work most mornings with Nana.  He would 'help' her out for a couple hours, and as payment for his services, always came home with a new item - index cards, fancy pens, a new notebook - he's cheap labor!

We had a fabulous relaxing week of vacation.  Unfortunately, it was time for the dreaded 7 hour road trip home before we knew it.  So once again, we loaded up the car and set off for home.  Adios, North Dakota!
