Our Littlest Fish

This fall I signed Rose up for her first solo swimming lessons.  In the years prior, Shane and Rose took the Parent/Child class together, but now that she's a big 3 year old, she was able to take the Preschool Swim Class all by herself at our Community Center.

She learned all sorts of new skills - how to front float, back float, glide, flutter kick and more!  She is a natural when it comes to the water!

Friday mornings must not be a popular time for swimming lessons as she was the only one who signed up.  So instead of canceling the class, we opted to turn her lessons into private ones.  Perhaps for the better as mid-way through the session she had already mastered all of the Preschool skills and her instructor started adding in Level 1 skills.  By the end of the session, she had learned all but two skills required in Level 1.  She is quite the little fish!

After swimming lessons, Rose would always request to "go to donuts".  We did it so often that it became our typical Friday morning routine - swimming then donuts.  Once we'd arrive at the bakery, she'd run in with a big grin on her face to gaze through the glass display at all the different donut options, picking out just the one she wanted. After all her hard work, she definitely deserved a donut!
