Halloween 2018

Halloween started on October 26th with our church's annual Trunk-or-Treat. It was much warmer this year than last (thank goodness!) The kids were eager to fill their baskets full of treats. This year Owen once again chose something scary - a creepy clown. He sure loves to dress up and spook his siblings.

Cole wasn't sure what he wanted to be, but he's quite a sports lover so it wasn't surprising he settled on a Vikings player.

Rose also waffled back and forth before finally deciding on Wonder Woman. She made an adorable one and insisted on having pretty red lips for Trunk-or-Treat.

As for Kate, she was Tigger - our 4th one as all the kids wore the same outfit when they were 1 year old. We sure have some cute Tiggers!

Trick-or-Trunk was a success! The kids all left with lots of sugar. The next day we headed to Nana Judy's and Popi Dave's house for their annual Halloween party. There were games, crafts, food, trick-or-treating AND a scavenger hunt. Needless to say, the kids had a blast and left with a huge load of treats.

Owen was once again Nana's big helper during the little kids' games. He stood behind the big curtain and placed toys on the end of the fishing rod to the little one's delight!

All of the sudden it was the night before Halloween and we had yet to carve our pumpkins. How does this happen every year!  The kids got to work drawing their pumpkin faces.

Then Shane and a couple "helpers" cleaned them out and carved them. There was some interpreting of designs that had to occur, but they turned out great.

Finally Halloween evening had arrived! Once again the kids put on their costumes and set off for some trick-or-treating down our road.

We live in a very small neighborhood, and usually only a handful of houses participate so it's a quick trip, but just enough for Cole and Kate. They were both done once we hit the last house on our street. Owen and Rose, however, were eager for more so Shane set off with them through the trees to the neighborhood behind us.

Cole and Kate wasted no time digging into their Halloween goodies!

Soon the remainder of our crew arrived home and dumped out their candy. They received many comments that Rose had the most adorable costume and Owen had the scariest that they had seen all night. Both were quite pleased with the compliments!

Rose started to gobble up her favorite treats, but Owen had to first organize his stash. He even shared his candy with Mom and Pa.
