The Pumpkin Patch

Our Halloween festivities began with our annual trip to Waldoch Farm. It was a beautiful fall day - perfect for spending the morning outside. Our first destination was the corn maze. Along the way, we stopped to do some fun activities - peddle four-wheeled bikes, play on a castle playset, attempt a nearly impossible game of tossing a ring attached to a long rope onto a tiny hook, drive the "John Deere" tractor and zoom down the new huge slide over and over again (the slide was a favorite for all!!)

Finally it was time for the corn maze - Owen's favorite! He is an amazing map reader and successfully leads us through the maze year after year.

We all enjoyed the peaceful stroll through the corn, with the exception of when Owen and Rose took off racing each other to the finish line, leaving the rest of us behind in the dust.

After a quick train ride (Owen wanted to sit in the caboose, but we had to settle for the 5th train car instead), we were off to the pumpkin patch.

FINALLY! We made it to the pumpkin patch! The kids all had fun searching for their perfect pumpkins, except for Kate. She was fast asleep so we picked one out just for her.

On the walk back, Rose and Owen decided to play in the dirt road like a sandbox. The dust was flying everywhere!

While those two were busy getting covered in dust, Cole picked up the slack pulling the extra wagon.

Our last stop was the Barnyard - horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, a bunny, even alpacas! They have it all! We purchased several cups of food to feed the critters who gobbled it all up.

By the time we finished, it was already 1:00 pm and we were all hungry so we swung by our usual after-the-pumpkin-patch stop - The Tavern. Everyone ordered their favorites. It was delicious!  And a great way to end our trip to the pumpkin patch.
