Dear Cole - How has 11 years passed by so quickly? Seems like it was just yesterday that we were welcoming you into this world. Our tiny little one. You looked so small as we placed you into your car seat to head home from the hospital and begin our lives as a family of four.
We celebrated your first Halloween just a couple weeks later. You were such a little peanut that you fit into a pumpkin! I thought it was adorable, but you were not impressed.
How the times have changed! You have grown so big, full of so many ideas and opinions.
You may just be a tad obsessed with WWE. You have every single WWE Xbox game ever made (or at least those that are compatible with our Xbox). You love playing WWE, but absolutely hate to lose. Often you play both players at the same time so you can control each move. Or you request to play against your mom who still can not figure out a single move. I have, however, beat you twice, much to both our surprise.
When not playing WWE on the Xbox, you can be found in "Mom's Room" watching WWE on YouTube. You love watching all your favorite WWE wrestlers and listening to your favorite YouTubers, all from the quiet of Mom's room where, for the most part, no other siblings reside. It's your favorite room in the house away from your noisy siblings.
You love being a goofball, especially around your little sister Aria. You just can't help being silly and getting her giggling, even if it's not the best time like when she's eating or taking her medicine. I usually have to ask you 3, 4, even 5 times to stop making Aria laugh when she's trying to eat. You just can't help it - you love making her happy.
When it comes to your siblings, you are such an empathetic brother (at least most of the time - you do have your moments as we all do). You can't stand seeing them sad or upset and often try to cheer them up by giving them a toy or electronic device. Heck, you'd give them the shirt off your back if that's what they wanted. If you're about to do something fun, you'll announce it quite loudly so that they can all hear and join you if they'd like.
On your birthday, we packed in all your favorites to celebrate your special day. A trip to Caribou in the morning for a yummy hot chocolate...
An afternoon full of playing your favorite Xbox games...
Take-out dinner from your all time favorite restaurant - Red Robin - seated at your favorite eating spot on the deck. You sure love their turkey burgers and fries!
And opening your gift packed full of WWE memorabilia.
Since you're not much of a fan of cake, you blew out the candles on a stack of homemade chocolate chip cookies to end your special celebration.
The following Saturday, we celebrated yet again - but this time with birthday guests. The party was small due to COVID, but you still had a blast with both your Nanas and Uncle Jason.
The party theme this year was not surprising...WWE is your absolute favorite! You had a WWE cake from The Buttercream Bakehouse and wore your WWE SmackDown shirt that you got just for the special day.
The party began with opening gifts. Your first gift was a Lego Xbox game so everything else was put on hold while you spent time figuring out your new game.
Soon it was time for lunch. And what was your lunch request? Red Robin of course! All the party guests enjoyed their choice of Red Robin entree and side. You were so into your new Xbox game, it took some convincing to tear you away from it to eat your lunch.
After lunch, it was more fun gifts to open (of course your overly helpful sister Rose had to help)...
Followed by dessert!
And then time for the piƱata (and more sugar)!
The rest of the day was spent playing with all your fun birthday presents. The drone was a favorite for all and you graciously shared it with your siblings (and even your mom).
