The 1st Day of School

September 6th marked the first day of school for our three oldest. This year each of our crew would be off to different schools with different start and end times.

Cole is now a 6th grader and started his 1st year at Chippewa Middle School. He is the first to leave in the early morning with a bus pickup time of 7:12 am. Luckily that works out great for him since he's our early morning riser and up by 5:00 am every day.

On his first day, Rose and Kate were both up early so that they could wait with him for his bus to arrive.

Owen is the next one off with a pickup time of 7:39 am. He is in the 9th grade at Mounds View High School (we now have a high schooler!) While he gave me a hard 'no' when I asked to wait with him for his bus, he did oblige his Mama with a quick photo session in the back yard before he left.

Rose is the last bus rider to leave in the morning with a late pickup time of 8:57 am. She is in the 2nd Grade at Turtle Lake Elementary. This is her second year there, but the first year riding the bus all on her own. Last year she had her big brother Cole with her. She was the most excited out of our oldest trio to head back to school.

The following week, it was Kate's turn to go back to school. She was sad that her big siblings got to go the week prior and so happy that it was finally her turn. She's attending preschool at our local community center. It's the same place she went last year, but this year she goes 5 mornings a week.

We opted out of preschool for Aria this year so that she could focus on therapies. She attends 8 hours each week of in-clinic therapy plus 3 hours each week of at-home therapy with an OT plus several more hours each day working on things with me. She's by far the busiest 4 year old I know. All her hard work is definitely paying off. Just recently she learned how to push herself up from the floor onto her knees. She is getting so strong!

Here's hoping for a productive and drama free school year!
