Easter 2025

Our Easter celebrations began with our usual Easter activity - coloring eggs. I had 3 dozen eggs hard boiled and ready to dye a week before the big day. Somehow I was ahead of the game this year.

We did both the traditional type of coloring with a mixture of water and dye in cups as well as coloring with an egg spinner and markers.

Everyone did a beautiful job decorating their eggs.

Owen was a bit of a procrastinator this year and placed one egg into the dye cup where he left it for over 12 hours. It ended up being the most vibrant pink ever.

Sam and Aria were very focused while coloring their eggs and watched them closely as they spun around.

Of course after doing an amazing job, Aria decided to whip her last egg onto the floor.

But all was good because our egg eaters could not wait a moment longer so crack them open and gobble them up.

The day before Easter, we journeyed over to Nana Judy's and Popi Dave's house for an early Easter celebration.

There was a big Easter Egg hunt, a scavenger hunt, and a hunt for Easter baskets.

The kids searched high and low for all their hidden goodies.

They got so many exciting surprises!

The following day was Easter. Our kid crew of 6 spread out their wakeup times with Cole, Kate and Aria first to rise. The Easter Bunny had left a note with instructions on what to look for. Each child had their own set of color coded eggs to find plus their baskets.

Kate and Cole eagerly started on their Easter eggs hunts while Aria preferred to play.

Soon they located their baskets too. Kate was especially excited about her set of tiny hatchimals. Whereas Cole was ecstatic to replenish his candy supply.

Shortly after, Sam woke up and went in search of all his goodies.

Sam had fun drawing in his new water activity book.

Finally Aria and Rose went in quest of their hidden treasures.

Rose was shocked to have received a Comfrt blanket in her basket. These may just be THE softest blankets ever made. And Rose sure does love soft, fuzzy blankets!

Aria was mesmerized by her new bubble wand. Bubbles were EVERYWHERE!

Two hours after the festivities began, Owen emerged from his slumber and went in search of his hidden treasures.

The Easter Bunny sure did a good job hiding his items. He searched and searched and after peaking in the same closet twice, third time was the charm and he located his basket. Owen said the Easter bunny got him everything he could have wanted - snacks, Nike socks and a full replenishment of his favorite hair and face products.

After the fun, laid-back morning, we threw on our church clothes and headed off to 1:00 pm Spanish mass at St. Odilia's. Owen had requested we attend the Spanish mass and the timing worked out perfect for our morning nappers. We were lucky to arrive a bit early to get a seat as people kept trickling in and the entire place was packed.

For Easter dinner, we dined on some of our favorite "fancy" foods, limonada de coco (our favorite Colombian drink), crab legs, shrimp, fettuccine alfredo, cheesy hash browns, and more. I rarely cook these days so we all enjoyed the home-cooked feast even more.

A very happy Easter to all! He is risen!
