Grove's Cross Country

After taking a year hiatus from cross country to play soccer, Owen was back at it this year joining Grove Academy's cross country team.

Grove's unfortunately didn't have enough players this year for a soccer team, so Owen decided instead to give cross country another try. He ran cross country with Totino-Grace in the 10th grade, but this was his first year participating on the Grove's team.

Grove's had a small group of kids in cross country, but what they lacked in numbers, they made up in enthusiasm. I'm not sure how many people running a 5K look as happy as Owen flashing his big grin as he ran past all his cheering fans.

The weather was a roller coaster with lots of rainy meets and some very cold ones as well. But Owen didn't complain and actually preferred running in the rain versus a hot muggy day.

Owen did amazing, running his best and finishing strong in every race. We are so proud of his commitment to his team and the sport. Way to go, Owen!
