Cole's Baptism

November 22 was a big day for Cole - he was baptized at St. John the Baptist Church in New Brighton. Our church typically only does one mass baptism a month, and of course that day didn't work for us. Not wanting to wait to have him baptized, we were able to schedule a private baptism, or at least a semi-private one as another family also baptized their son that day.

Cole's day started out with a nice relaxing bath. At 6 weeks old, he just barely fit in the bath we got from the hospital...
The baptism was scheduled for 12:30pm, but with the way our mornings go these days, we were struggling to get there in time. The boys looked adorable in their suits...

The car ride over to the church was a stressful one with both boys screaming the entire way. With the mood they were in, we were a bit worried about how they would behave during the service. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! Upon arriving at the chapel, Cole and Owen were both happy as could be. They even did a great job posing in photo after photo...

The ceremony was wonderful and Deacon Joseph did a great job. Owen sat very quietly with his Grandma Klein and Cole was a little angel sleeping through most of it. He didn't even cry when the Deacon poured the water on his head. The only little hiccup was during the renewal of the baptismal promises when you are supposed to respond "I do". The other family must not be avid church goers as they kept shouting out "Yes". Oops!

After the baptism, we headed over to our house for some good food and conversation, and of course, cuddle time with Cole.
