It's going up!

The house is going up fast!  On Saturday (November 17th), we swung by to snoop around since no one would be working.  We were excited to see that the entire basement had been framed!

On Tuesday, (November 20th) we showed up for our daily drive-by just in time to see them hoist a huge piece of house onto the roof of the garage.  It was fun (and a bit scary!) to watch.

We stopped by again on Thanksgiving Day to do more snooping.  It's nice to be able to walk all over and check everything out without getting in the way.  We were so excited to see that they had finished framing the main level, made great progress framing the upstairs, and poured the concrete floor in the basement!

It's been so exciting to see the progress day to day.  It's starting to look like an actual house!  With so much of the framing complete, we can finally see each room taking shape.  We spent months working on the floor plan and tweaking this and that.  Hopefully everything will be as functional in reality as it appears on paper!

We made our first of many decisions last week and picked out the windows and shingles (and yes, Shane did have a say in what we went with!)  We picked out Marvin Integrity windows and choose to go with Bronze (dark brown) on the exterior and their factory painted white on the interior.  For the shingles, we choose Timberline in the color Mission Brown.  The windows and shingles have been ordered and will hopefully be going in soon, the front door has been picked out and right now we're working on the door hardware and exterior stone.  There are so many decisions to make!  Hopefully it'll all come together in the end.
