The drive to Eau Claire went quickly. Owen had been watching a movie the entire time and didn't say a peep the whole drive there! When we arrived, we grabbed a quick lunch at the boys' favorite restaurant - Red Robin. Owen loves their turkey burgers and fries, but for Cole, it's their gluten-free buns and race car arcade game. Even though we never put money in the game, he just loves sitting in the seat, steering the wheel like crazy and watching the screen.
After our meal, we headed to the resort. We had to wait a while for our room, but once we finally got checked in, it wasn't long before we were off to the water park.
Cole enjoyed walking all over the shallow zero entry pool but he especially liked playing in the areas that were chin deep on him. Of course, I kept pulling him into the shallower water and he kept going back. That little stinker.
Owen loved the lazy river and the huge, winding enclosed slide. After Shane and Owen had gone down the slide a number of times, I decided to give it a try with him. We lugged the two person inner tube all the way up the steps, loaded ourselves on, and off we went into a completely black abyss. Owen loved it and squealed the entire way down. But that slide was definitely not for someone who has a wee bit of claustrophobia! Needless to say, that was my first and last time riding down.
The next day we hit Action City. Action City is a big arcade in the hotel, but they have more than just arcade games. There's mini-bowling, laser tag, go-carts, mini-golf, an outdoor maze, and more! We were spoiled with unlimited play wristbands. We'd scan our card to play a game and if the boys weren't into it, we'd be off to the next thing. I'm sure whoever was getting to finish all of our half played games was quite happy! Cole's favorites were the go-carts, the racing arcade games, and air hockey. As for Owen, he loved the mini-golf and he could not get enough of the laser tag.
We had a great time on our little getaway. And after all the noise at the arcade, we were ready for a quite drive home.
