Fun in the Sun!

With school out and the gorgeous weather, we've been taking advantage of the great outdoors.  The kids love playing outside.  One of their favorite things to do at home is drive their police car.  Cole especially loves taking his wheels for a spin.  He is one wild driver!

While riding in the car is fun, Rose would much rather play with the water table.  It's the perfect height for her.  She loves splishing and splashing water everywhere!

Owen loves water just as much as his little sister.  Give him a hose and he'll stay entertained for hours!

Our first summertime excursion was to the Como Zoo.  With 3 kids with 3 very different interests, I wasn't sure how the trip would go (and being outnumbered 3 to 1 was a bit nerve-wracking!), but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Rose has never been too fond of the stroller, but luckily her love of finger foods has made the stroller much more bearable.

We saw all our favorite animals at the zoo.  On a hot humid Minnesota summer day, the inside exhibits at the zoo can be a bit smelly, like inside the big cat exhibit.  While Owen was intrigued to learn all about tigers, the rest of us were trying not to breath!  Pee-yew!!!

Okay, so Rose wasn't making this face due to the smell.  But the look on her face is exactly how I felt inside the big cat exhibit.
"Pee-yew!"

Our first trip to the zoo was a success!  Everyone left happy and tired.

Our next adventure was to Tamarack Nature Center.  Everyone had fun playing in the water and sand.

It was Rose's first time touching sand and she wasn't too sure what to think about it so of course she had to give it a taste.  She puts everything in her mouth!!

We had lots of fun taking silly photos while waiting for Owen to finish playing with his newly made friends.

And one quick group photo on our way out...

On our way out of the park, we made a quick pit-stop inside the building to take a look at the animals before departing.
