The Slominski 5 loaded up the car for Rose's second road trip. This time it was a doozy of a car ride touring several towns throughout the exciting state of North Dakota! The first stop on our adventure was my hometown of Fessenden to visit Nana Bev and Popi Jerry. After 7 hours in the car with 3 little ones, we were all relieved when we finally pulled into town. The boys and I usually spend a week in Fessenden every summer, but this time around our stay was only for a couple days. The kids enjoyed the great outdoors and playing with all the old toys Nana has kept since my siblings and I were little.
Of course, no trip would be complete without Cole and Popi Jerry taking the John Deere for a spin!
Before we knew it, we were loading up the car once again. Fargo was the next stop on our journey for my nephew Cullen's 3rd birthday party. We booked a room at a hotel with a fun pool area. I think we've stayed at every hotel in Fargo that has a water park. We keep trying different hotels because for some reason, while the pools are great, the water is COLD! Unfortunately, the pool was freezing there too, although the boys didn't seem to mind.

Rose and I thought we'd join in on the fun. It was her very first time in a swimming pool! She looked adorable in her new swimsuit. She LOVES taking baths, but she wasn't as excited about the pool as she is about the bath tub. It was probably the freezing cold water! Although we did get a couple smiles and laughs from her. But it didn't take long for her lips to turn blue and her teeth to start chattering. Needless to say, the girls headed for the hotel room early while the boys stayed to enjoy the pool.

We were a bit tight on space in our hotel room with the 5 of us and a pack-n-play. There definitely wasn't much space to play, but Rose made her own fun. She kept crawling into the suitcase in our room over and over again. She loves to climb on anything her little legs can reach!
We had a lovely time celebrating Cullen's birthday and the next day we were off to our next destination - my Grandma Klein's 95th birthday celebration in Bismarck. Grandma Klein got to meet Rose for the first time.
After the party, we headed back to our hotel in Fargo for a night before making the journey home the following day. After driving over 1,200 miles, we were happy to be home!
