Our 9th Year with Owen

On July 30th we celebrated 9 years together with Owen. Boy, the years have sure flown by! Since it was Owen's special day, he got to plan the entire day. Our first stop was the Science Museum. Owen has always been a very curious boy. He loves science and conducting chemistry experiments at home.  Just stop by unannounced and you will likely see the remnants of one of his experiments (Why yes, that is baking soda all over the kitchen floor - Owen was making his favorite concoction, ooblick!)

We spent the morning at the museum and took full advantage of all of the hands-on experiments perfect for little ones.  Everyone enjoyed exploring the museum.

After a morning packed full of science, we were off to another one of Owen's favorites for lunch - Noodles and Company.  Owen loves their Mac and Cheese. Somehow he can eat an entire adult serving!

After dropping off the little ones at home, Owen and Mom were off to continue the celebration with a stop at our local ice cream shop...

And then it was time for the show.  Owen requested to see the new sci-fi movie "Valarian and the City of a Thousand Planets".  We were the only two people in the theater at the beginning so out came the camera (I don't think Owen was too excited about his camera-happy mom!)

Happy 9th Family Day, Owen!  Oh my, how you have grown, especially this past year.  You're officially too big for me to carry.  I clearly remember your appointment in Colombia with the US Embassy Physician.  The doctor told me I'd better watch out because you'd soon be taller than me!  And he was right!  It won't be long now before you sprout up right past me.  You are growing like a weed, from our sweet, curious, adorable toddler to an inquisitive, talkative, Minecraft-loving handsome young man.  We love you forever and for always!
