It was another rough night of sleep at the hospital. The nurses come and go throughout the night. Once Aria and I would finally doze off, a nurse would come in and wake us up yet again.
Aria has been having trouble with her IV. Yesterday it needed to be replaced. The nurse attempted and couldn't get a vein so she brought in someone with more expertise. It took him not one, not two, but FIVE times until he finally placed the line. It was horrible watching them stick her again and again. But our girl has quite a high pain tolerance after all she has been through and barely reacted to the sticks.
Aria chilling at the hospital
This morning, the IV was once again not working properly. Before trying to replace it, the nurses wanted to hear back from Dr. Dukhi to see if it was still necessary. He came late this morning when Shane was on hospital duty and I was back at the hotel. Dr. Dukhi said we could stop the IV and switch to oral meds. If she continues to do well, she will be discharged tomorrow! It's a bit scary leaving the hospital, but I'm so looking forward to our comfy Marriott beds and a good nights sleep.
Aria flashing her sweet grin
Aria has been eating great (at least great for her). It's obvious she is feeling so much better. Tonight we were goofing around and she started to smile and laugh!! What an amazing sight to see!
Aria letting out a big laugh
Please continue to pray for a quick recovery for our sweet girl, that the US will grant Aria a medical visa and that we will be able to finalize her adoption in August.
