The kids love taking our annual trip to Waldoch Farm to hand pick their pumpkins from the patch. This year we waited until the very last minute to squeeze in our visit. On October 29th, we trekked up the road to the farm with winter coats, hats and mittens in tow. Last year it had been incredibly warm, but this year was quite the opposite. Aria tends to dislike big bulky coats as they make it much harder for her to move, and she was not at all thrilled to suit up for the frigid excursion.
Due the cold, we focused on our MUST DO list of activities to make sure we had plenty of time at our favorites. The girls first stop was the corn pit. Those three could have stayed there the entire time scooping, digging, and throwing corn to and fro.

I had to convince them to leave by tempting them with their next favorite attraction - the gigantic slide! On the way to the slide, Kate decided to make her journey a bit more fun by navigating her way through the obstacle course.

Rose had already taken multiple runs down the slide by the time Kate arrived. The rest of us thought we'd give it a try too (minus Cole and Owen - they weren't too excited so skipped out on it. They are teenage boys after all!)

Our next stop was the barnyard to feed the horses, goats, donkeys, pigs and more!
After the animals were all fed, we started making our way down the dirt road to the pumpkin patch. We've always walked before, but this time we were stopped and asked to instead take the hayride out to the patch. We were informed that their new hayride had a chair lift for wheelchairs, and we were excited to test out the accessibility with Aria's stroller.
Once arriving at the pumpkin patch, the kids quickly selected their pumpkins of choice. In previous years, there had been much more indecisiveness.
After loading our five pumpkins onto the hayride, we set off once again back to the main attraction area. Everyone enjoyed the "hayride" (although there was no actual hay), and we all especially loved not having to pull a cart full of pumpkins all the way back from the field.
We loaded our big haul into our vehicle and then after a quick snack, we were off to our last stop - the corn maze! Rose and Kate wanted to lead us through the maze, but Owen grabbed Aria in her stroller and took off, which had me chasing after them with little care about finding the clues. Once we tracked down Owen and Aria, we found a few of the clues before deciding to call it good and made a bee line out of the maze. It was already getting dark and time to head home for the evening.
Despite the cold, we had a fabulous time at the farm. See you next year, Waldoch Farm!
