Still No First Order

Yesterday we received word from Sadie, our lawyer in Guyana, that she had filed the court document that the Judge had requested. We had originally been told she'd be able to meet with the Judge the same day that she filed the document and our First Order would be granted. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Instead, another hearing with the Judge was scheduled for today at 1:00 pm EST. A one day delay would normally not matter, except that we are desperately trying to get everything approved so we can make the Adoption Board meeting on July 31st.

Some other news from yesterday...I finally connected with Jocelyn via video call and was able to see Aria. Jocelyn had called a few times over the last couple weeks when I wasn't available to chat so I was so thankful to connect with her. The last time I had seen Aria was July 9th - nearly 2 weeks ago. That was much too long of a time to go without seeing our little peanut. The connection was not good and we ended up getting disconnected 9 times, but I did get a few glimpses of my girl. She was very smiley and looked to be doing well. Jocelyn had given her a haircut and her teeth are sure popping through now!

Today was a long one. We anxiously waited all day for more news from Sadie. Would the court grant our First Order? Or would our wait continue?

It was after 3:00 pm when we got the bad news. Our case wasn't able to be heard today. The Guyana government is having major problems and the courts were slammed dealing with issues surrounding the holding of new elections. Sadie is now hoping that our case will be heard tomorrow. At this point, we are very uncertain as to the possibility of us making the July 31st meeting. Please continue to send your prayers. We need a miracle.
