Article 5!

We have made some progress and getting so very close to finally meeting our sweet little boy! 

In the wee morning hours on January 9th, a message popped into my inbox. It was from the National Visa Center! They had processed our request and assigned us the magic numbers that we needed in order to submit the DS260 (the US Immigrant Visa application). I completed the application that same morning. 

Now all we needed was our Article 5 (a letter from the US Embassy approving us to move forward with the adoption process.) We were told it could be as fast as 5 days or as long as 21 days before getting the Article 5 issued. Just 8 days later, we got the news. Our Article 5 was ready to be picked up by our team in Colombia. YAY!

We were expecting to be assigned our travel dates and start making some concrete plans this week, but alas, we will have to continue to wait. The Secretary for the Adoption Unit is out until January 24th, and we will have to await her return before she can give us our travel dates. Hopefully she can give us dates quickly once she returns. 

Until then, we continue to wait.
