Flights are booked!

We are all set for our next adventure to Guyana! Our flights are booked for Monday, August 26th. In only 11 days we will be in Georgetown!! We'll be spending our first 5 days at King's Hotel and then moving into the Marriott for hopefully the remainder of our stay (Thank goodness for Shane's American Express points and 20 free nights at the Marriott!!)

Sadie, our lawyer, had told us twice now that we were on the schedule for the August Adoption Board meeting, but today we also got confirmation from Ms. Jardine at the Child Protection Agency (CPA). It was a huge relief to also hear from her that we are ALL SET!! We will get custody of Aria on Tuesday, August 27th and will meet with the Adoption Board on Wednesday, August 28th!

Sadie stopped by the CPA today to review our file and make sure everything was in order. She said the file looked positive and she didn't anticipate any problems with our interview with the Board. Once we get Board approval, our case will go back to the court for the Judge to finalize our adoption and Aria will forever be a Slominski! If all goes well, we will have court approval on August 30th.

Yesterday I was able to connect with Jocelyn and see our little peanut. The internet connection was poor, but I did get to see lots of smiles and hear Aria making noises. She seems to be doing well and we can not wait to see her again in person!
