To pass the time, Aria and I took a stroll around the hotel this morning. We grabbed a coffee at the bar, walked along the pool (it was sure a hot one today!), and strolled around the lobby. There's not a ton of places to walk, but we did our best to get some steps in.

At 10:00 am we got a message from Sadie. She had reviewed the latest version of our Final Order and found several errors that she had forwarded on to the Registry to be corrected. The Registry agreed to have them fixed and the Order ready for pick up after lunch. I was praying that this time our Final Order would finally be correct.
1:00 passed, then 2:00 and then 3:00 and still no word. As the hours ticked by, I was losing hope that we'd be getting the document today. While we were waiting, we headed down to the lobby for a change of scenery. We were sitting by the front door when my phone beeped with a message from Sadie. She was on her way to drop off the Final Order!! WOO HOO!!!
| "YAY! I'm officially a Slominski!" |
Since it had taken nearly a week to be issued, I had assumed it was a long detailed document. When in reality, it was only 4 pages long. FOUR PAGES! At least we had it AND it was correct! Time to check it off the long list of tasks to complete.
Unfortunately, Sadie also had some bad news to share. She had just come from the Post Office to apply for Aria's Adoption Certificate and was told that it would take a week to issue the certificate. On top of that, Sadie's sister was diagnosed with Leukemia so she'll be leaving the country to stay with her for an indefinite time period. Sadie is going back to the post office tomorrow to see what can be done to speed up the issuance of our Adoption Certificate and try to get it for us before she leaves.
Late this afternoon, Kim dropped off a load of Aria's laundry that she so kindly washed for us. Aria was in her last outfit and it was perfect timing! We were chatting right outside the hotel entrance when a man approached us and asked that Kim please move her vehicle. The President was expected to arrive any minute and they needed that area cleared - YIKES! Kim left and we headed up to our room to avoid any sort of ruckus that the arrival of a President could cause.
Please pray that Sadie has luck persuading the powers that be to issue Aria's Adoption Certificate tomorrow. We've already had several set backs and I can't bare to think of an entire week just waiting around for the certificate to be issued.
