Day 25: We are coming home!

Today was our last day in Guyana. It's hard to believe we will be boarding a plane bound for home tonight. We've been working towards this day for 278 days. And now Operation Bring Aria Home will finally be over as we journey home to begin our new life together as a family of 7!

This morning Kim came to the hotel for Aria's very first photo shoot. While Aria normally loves it when Mom takes her photos, she was not convinced that Kim should be quite so close to her and unfortunately wasn't her usual happy cheery self. Kim did miraculously get some smiling pictures in between the sobs. I can't wait to see how they turned out. How very generous Kim was to donate her photography services to our family. Now I won't have to be in a huge rush to get Aria's photos taken when we get home.

We were planning to head back to Joycelyn's house to say goodbye at 4:00 pm, but we were stuck on the phone with Gillette making appointments with neurology. It took much longer than we anticipated. At 5:00 pm, we grabbed a cab bound for Joycelyn's. All the girls were there waiting to see Aria. Destiny, Crystal and Shania were so happy to get to see her one more time. They didn't want us to leave. But the sun was setting so we made our way over the plank and back to our cab to head back to the Marriott. Aria will definitely be missed in the William's household. They all love her so much.

Tonight will be a long one. We leave on a 12:30 am flight connecting in Miami and will land in Minnesota tomorrow morning!! We are coming home!
