We have Sentencia!! The judge has signed off and approved our adoption! Now all that needs to happen for Rose to be legally our daughter is for us to sign the document. We are thrilled!!
When our lawyer submitted our case to the court in La Mesa (a small town outside of Bogota), we were told to expect Sentencia sometime this week. But we had no idea it would be first thing Monday morning when we'd get the call!
Tomorrow morning at 4:45 am (eek!) Shane will be picked up for the long drive to La Mesa (it's only 50 miles away, but traffic here is muy loco so the drive can take 3 hours!) Shane will sign Sentencia tomorrow morning making Rose an official Slominski!
We still need to get Rose's new birth certificate with us listed as her parents, her passport and her visa, and then we will be on our way home! Our flights are booked for April 19th so we may get in a few more days of sight seeing before leaving for home.
Today we made the long walk to our favorite lunch place - Oma! Now that our days here are counting down, we just had to make the journey. We had a delicious meal and yummy drinks and even stayed for a cup of coffee. I don't think the waitress thought we'd ever leave!

We rushed back to our apartment to meet our representative Cecilia for Rose's doctor appointment. The boys stayed behind with Shane and Nana Bev while Rose and I went to the appointment. It was basically a formality. He looked her over, asked a few questions and said we have a healthy little girl.
Tonight we celebrate Sentencia! In just 13 days we will be home!
