We Are HOME!

After living in Colombia for a month, we are HOME!!  It is so good to finally be back!

Yesterday was quite the day.  We spent most of the afternoon wandering around the Atlanta airport.  We had missed lunch in our mad rush to get to our connecting flight and then it took some time to make our alternate plans and before we knew it, it was after 3:00!  On our way out of the airport, we happened upon a PF Changs.  It's one of Owen's favorites so we stopped to grab a bite to eat.  Throughout our meal, the servers at the restaurant would stop at our table to talk to Rose.  She sure is a little charmer, even with a face covered in prunes!

It was an interesting night in Atlanta.  All our checked bags were on the flight to Minneapolis without us.  The luggage we did have was mostly souvenirs that we didn't want to get broken on the flight.  Luckily I had stuffed a few articles of clothing into the suitcases to protect the breakables.  So although Rose had no pjs, she was able to wear her big brother Owen's jammy shirt to keep warm.  She sure looked cute snoozing away in Owen's orange dinosaur pjs!

This morning, we boarded an early flight to Minneapolis.  Everything went smoothly and we were in Minnesota before we knew it!

We were welcomed back by our family and friends who were all eager to meet the littlest Slominski.

We eventually made it to the car with all our luggage and our three niños!  Shane had rearranged all the car seats to make room for Rose.  We have quite the car load now!  Rose didn't have any problem being strapped into her car seat.  It was a first for her so we didn't know how she'd react.  She was fine for the first 10 minutes or so and then she was ready to get out.  By the time we got off the freeway, she was hysterical so I climbed into the back seat and rode the rest of the way home beside her.  The car seat is definitely not her friend!  It should make for some interesting driving time tomorrow!

Once we got home, we spent most of the day unpacking and showing Rose her new home.

Tonight I rocked my little munchkin to sleep and laid her in bed in her room - the room that's been empty for so long but now has a sweet little angel snoozing away in it.  We are so blessed!  And we look forward to the adventure that lies before us as we begin our lives as a party of five!
