Day 26 - Passports and the Conformity and the Medical Report, Oh My!

We had an uneventful, but very productive day.  While Owen and Cole enjoyed the amenities at our apartment complex, Rose and I spent the majority of today in a car staring at a long line of break lights on the road before us.  Ah, Bogota traffic.  There's nothing like it!  No one pays attention to the lanes in the road.  They forge ahead making their own routes.  Especially the motorcyclists who, rather than driving in the car lanes drive between the cars and on the shoulder!  It's pure chaos!

Our first stop this morning was the passport office.  While it took quite a long time to get there due to traffic, we skipped to the front of the line (those with children are given priority!) and I had both Rose and Owen's passport in my hands within 5 minutes.  It definitely pays to bring a baby along to the passport office!!

Now that we had Rose's passport, we could get the paperwork really rolling!  We stopped by a nearby store to get her passport copied, scanned, and emailed over to the Embassy Doctor who needed to have the passport number before he could provide us with her Medical Report.

This afternoon we made the long drive to Bienestar to pick up our Adoption Conformity and then jetted over to the Embassy Doctor's office for our last piece of paperwork for the day - the Medical Report.

Now that we have Rose's passport, the Conformity and the Medical Report, we are all set to visit the US Embassy tomorrow to apply for Rose's US Immigrant Visa.  Only 5 more days and this adorable little munchkin will finally be home!

Rose is too adorable for words! We're all looking forward to meeting her in person very soon.
