Day 20 - Tour of FANA

Owen awoke to a surprise from the Tooth Fairy and El Raton Perez!  The Tooth Fairy left him 1 US Dollar (which he can't wait to spend!) and El Raton brought him some things to make his stay in Bogota more comfortable - a pillow, blanket, paper and markers.  He was a very happy boy!

Rose was in her usual good mood today.  She was quite the queen of drool, drenching straight through her bib!

This morning, we loaded up and made the trek to FANA for a tour of the facility.  Luckily traffic wasn't too bad today and we made it in no time at all!

FANA!

It was just as I had remembered, but the exciting part was watching Owen look around at the place that was his first home.  We saw many adorable children, but all of the beds were empty (exempt for the tiny newborns who were snoozing away in their cribs).  The babies and toddlers were being played with and the school aged kids were in their classrooms.  It really goes to show how much love and attention the children of FANA receive.  We are so very thankful to FANA for the care that they gave to two of our beautiful niños!

After our tour, we met with Maria Teresa Maldonado to review Rose's social history.  It brought tears to my eyes to hear about her birth parents and how they loved her so very much that they made the ultimate sacrifice so that she could have a better life than they could provide.  We are truly humbled, grateful, and blessed to be able to call her our daughter.  She is our little angel!

As we were leaving FANA, we saw the woman who carried Owen into the Green Room to be united with us almost 7 years ago.  We just had to get a photo of the two of them together again.  He sure has grown up!
Then...

And now!
This afternoon Shane, Rose and I went to the notary (again!) to get our document notarized so that I can leave the country with the kids if for some reason Shane can't make it back to Colombia.  This time Cecilia brought us to her usual notary office and we were in and out in no time at all - with our notarized document!

Tonight Owen had Rose on the move.  He was enticing her with his toy airplane and she successfully crawled a couple times!  She also sat up by herself at least 5 times as they played.  She really wants to be able to keep up with her big brother!

Shane leaves bright and early tomorrow morning for Minnesota.  He is traveling back with his suitcases full of breakables.  Fingers crossed that all of our goods arrive home in one piece!
