We also picked up a birthday cake and some decorations to celebrate Owen's first birthday tomorrow. It's 9 days early, but we wanted to have a small celebratation while Shane was still here. Owen will be having a lot of birthday parties this year...tomorrow, on his birthday (August 24th) and when we get back to MN. Owen found the wrapping paper for his gifts and had a dandy time playing with it. (He'll probably like the wrapping better than his gifts! He loves paper!)
We found out this afternoon that the apartment we are moving into won’t be ready until tomorrow, so we put our final move on hold for one more day. The apartment is being completely renovated, so everything will be brand new. We're looking forward to finally being able to unpack and get all settled in.
Owen is enjoying crawling around our new pad and checking everything out.
He can't get enough of the telephone - hopefully no one is trying to call us since the phone is always off the hook! He loves to grab the receiver and has entire conversations with his imaginary friend. It's too funny!
He also loves playing airplane with his Papa…
Our baby is turning into such a big boy - recently he's been wanting to do everything himself. At lunch, his Papa was feeding him some ham, but he decided to just help himself instead. And when he was having his last bottle before bed time, he got really upset when Mama tried to help - he wanted to hold the bottle himself!
The last couple of days we’ve been able to get Owen into somewhat of a routine. He’s started taking naps at the same time and we’ve gotten into a schedule of giving him a bath before bed each night. He loves his baths!
Well, it's off to bed we go! Owen is an early riser so there will be no sleeping in for us!
