Today was another busy day of paperwork!
Early this morning we headed out to get passport photos and passports with the Sibley’s.
Owen got all dressed up in his button up shirt and sweater vest.
He was quite the handsome little guy!

Maria Teresa Perez held him while he got his picture taken.
His hair was all nice and curly for the picture, but Maria Teresa patted it down - I guess they needed to see his ears! Owen was pretty intrigued by the guy taking his picture – he just sat and stared at him.
I tried my best to get him to smile, but it was impossible since he had to be looking directly at the camera.
After we got his picture, we got in line for his passport. We filled out all the paperwork and shortly afterward I had his passport in my hands! It was a very efficient process! Everything went smoothly for us (no errors!) But the Sibley’s did not have as good of luck. Erin found a typo on Lucas’s passport! Yikes! But she was able to quickly get it corrected.
Then we headed back to our apartment for a couple hours to relax and play and to get ready for our next excursion…the US Embassy physician.
This coke bottle is ginormous!!
Playing peek-a-boo is fun...
...but it's so exhausting!

Owen’s US Embassy physical was a breeze.
He passed with flying colors!
The doctor weighted and measured him – although I’m not sure how good of a job he did.
FANA had said he was 18.36 lbs and 27.9 inches at our referral over a month ago, but the embassy doctor said he was now 18.25 lbs and 26.5 inches tall.
It doesn’t quite add up!
The doctor also said that Owen looked just like his Mama and that I’d better watch out, because he’d soon be taller than me!
After our busy day, we headed back to our apartment. Papa called to chat about our day and Owen talked for the very first time on a phone that talked back at him! At first he just stared at the phone and couldn't figure out how Papa's voice was coming out of it. But he soon caught on and had a very long conversion with Papa! Every time I took the phone to talk with Shane, Owen would grab it back and gab on and on!
So with the passport and physical complete, all that’s left is Owen’s visa and we’ll be set to come home! Unfortunately the US Embassy is closed on Monday due to Labor Day, so we won’t be able to apply for the visa until Tuesday, but I should have his visa in my hands on Wednesday!
We were hoping to change our return flight to Thursday and come home through Houston, but with Hurricane Gustav rearing his ugly face towards Texas around that time, we may just wait and come home on our original return flight on Saturday. We’ll let you know as soon as we make our final decision!
Owen says ‘Hola’ and can’t wait to meet everyone! We’ll be home very soon!
