Day 18

Today flew by! We had a lot to do before Papa leaves tomorrow to go back to work. The day started off with coffee and pastries at Juan Valdez. Owen had just woken up from a nap, but he still enjoyed sharing Papa’s croissant!

Next it was off to run some errands and do some shopping. We went to the artisan shop Maku and then to Oma to pick up some coffee. Our final stop was at Migues shoe store to get some new kicks for Owen (he’s going to look really sharp when he gets home!) Then it was off to Crepes & Waffles for lunch and ice cream. After all our errands, we went back to the apartment to regroup and rest up. Owen decided to make a few calls on his new phone!

We thought today would be a good day to take Owen to his first Catholic mass. So we put on our dress clothes and went to the evening service at Santa Beatriz. Since we were all dressed up, we decided to take a family picture in front of the birthday sign and balloons.

Since it was Papa’s last night in Colombia, we decided to order pizza for dinner and hang out in the apartment. Owen decided not to wear his shirt to dinner, but he enjoyed sharing his Papa’s pizza!

Papa is very sad to be leaving tomorrow and we’re very sad he won’t be here with us while the court process runs its course. But we all know the time apart will be worth it when we're back home and together again.

We are LOVING all your updates and photos. We think Owen is one of the most photogenic guys we have ever seen. We have to admit that the frosting beard is our current favorite photo.

As Shane heads back to Minnesota, we wish Jess and Owen a terrific bit of mama and son time. We'll soon see you at the airport!

Your updates are beautiful and I'm so thrilled for you. You all look so happy. I bet Grandma Bev is just itching to get her arms around Owen! Safe journeys to Shane and many blessings on you all.
