Day 17

Today we celebrated Owen’s 1st birthday (a little early)! After a fairly uneventful morning, we headed to lunch at Crepes and Waffles in UniCentro. Owen was asleep when we got there, but woke up as soon as lunch arrived and was excited to have some crepes!

After lunch, we headed back to the apartment to get ready for the party. Taciano and Korene Henry came over to join us. Owen was quite confused at first. He didn’t know why we had balloons hanging up and put a hat on his head!

First it was time for cake! Owen liked looking at the cake, but he loved digging in!

After cake, it was time to open presents. Owen wasn’t quite sure about ripping the paper at first, but then he got the hang of it. He got a toy phone (he loves phones!), stackable toy rings, a rattle, and a bug-a-loop teething ring. He also got an adorable fleece jacket and frog bath toys from the Henry's (thank you!)

After presents, Lilliana woke up from her nap, so she asked her dad to bring her to the party...

Later this afternoon, we found out that the apartment that we were supposed to move into today wasn't ready yet. We were told that the people doing the renovations didn't show up to finish the work. So looks like the move will be put on hold until Tuesday.

For dinner, the Henry's invited us over to their place. Their apartment is just down the hall from us, so we strolled on over with Owen's high chair and had a delicious spaghetti dinner. Owen was a big fan of the bread and noodles (also known as 'snakes' in the Henry household) and he had a wonderful time playing with Taciano and Lilliana.

We had a great day and Owen sure wore us out! So off to bed we go!
