Day 22!

Today started out slow. Owen decided he wanted to be held most of the morning, which made getting ready for the day a bit challenging.

Hold me Mom!!

For a mid-morning snack, we had a kiwi. Owen was a big fan of it!

After lunch, we met up with the Henry’s and headed to Lava Sport (the laundry mat). We grabbed a cab at La Fontona since we had a ton of laundry and 3 kids to transport. Soon after we arrived, we figured out that they charge by weight rather than by item, which turned out to be WAY cheaper than we were paying at our apartment.

All the washing machines were busy when we arrived, so we had to wait a few minutes in their upstairs lounge area...

Once the washing machines were available, we headed down to get our laundry started.

Owen and Taciano thought the washing machines were pretty cool...

While our clothes were washed and dried, we took a walk around the area and found a small park. It was the first time Owen had been to a park. The boys had a ton of fun!

While at the park, Owen wanted to walk (with the assistance of his mama!) so he took off towards the grass. He decided to sit down and boy was he in for a big shock! I think it was probably the first time he had sat on grass...and he hated it! He wouldn't touch it with his hands and was trying as hard as he could to get his legs off of it!

Some big dark clouds rolled in, so we headed back to the laundry mat to fold and pack up our clothes. We then asked the lady at the desk to call us a taxi…which she refused to do! So there we went - 3 adults with 3 kids, diaper bags, and several bags of laundry. We waited in front of the laundry mat for a while, but all the cabs we saw were full so we stumbled along to our hotel. It must have been quite the sight to see!

The rest of our day we spent in our apartment relaxing and playing. Owen just discovered the huge plant that we have in our apartment. He loves digging in the pot and flinging dirt everywhere! I sure have my hands full!

Jess,
Toddlers are BUSY - and Owen is proving it!! Just wait - when you are home, in an environment that you can control and with a laundry in the same building - things will settle down! Hang in there - Grandma is coming!!
